Toledo teen charged with carryout owner's murder arraigned today in Maumee

A Toledo teen charged with aggravated murder was arraigned today in Maumee Municipal Court.

James Allen, 18, of 1732 E. Westland Gardens Rd., was ordered to be held in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $5 million.

Mr. Allen is accused in the shooting death of carryout owner James Safadi, who was killed inside his Waterville Township home, 8940 S. River Rd., on May 18.

Also held in lieu of $5 million bond is Ronald Rooker, Jr., 32, who is Mr. Safadi's neighbor.

Rooker is also charged with aggravated murder.

Police anticipate further arrests in the case.
