BOWLING GREEN — A North Baltimore, Ohio, man who defrauded investors in a company he owned was sentenced Tuesday to six months in the Wood County jail and ordered to pay $72,500 in restitution to one victim and $55,000 to a second victim.

Jason Schwartz, 39, also was placed on community control for three years by Wood County Common Pleas Judge Robert Pollex.

Schwartz pleaded no contest and was found guilty of two counts of unlawful securities practices earlier this year. He raised money from investors for TLC Genetics, a Bucyrus, Ohio, company that marketed itself as a full-service supplier of semen for the artificial insemination of swine.
