Despite a request for supervised release, the mother of a missing 18-month-old girl remained in the Lucas County jail Wednesday night.

Angela Steinfurth appeared before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook for arraignment. During a Wednesday morning court appearance, the judge denied the release and ordered bond be set at $100,000 with no option of posting a 10 percent cash bond.

Judge Cook said the facts in court documents suggest that the charge of obstructing official business warranted the bond.

Mrs. Steinfurth is accused of lying to police during the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of her daughter, Elaina Steinfurth, who has been missing since June 2. She was initially charged in Toledo Municipal Court with child endangering for allegedly knowing her daughter was seriously injured and not seeking medical attention.
