DELTA, Ohio — A Swancreek Township woman is charged with attempted aggravated murder in the shooting of her 15-year-old son.

Candis J. Sherman, 57, of 1263 State Rt. 109, faces the first-degree felony charge in Fulton County Eastern District Court.

Authorities said her son, Logan Sherman, 15, was shot in the arm and back area.

The sheriff’s office said the boy is expected to recover.

He was taken to Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo, but the hospital had no patient listed by his name Monday.

Deputies were dispatched just after 9:30 a.m. Sunday on a shooting call to the Sherman residence, where they recovered a revolver.

Ms. Sherman was taken into custody and lodged at the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, near Stryker, where she remained Monday evening.

Sheriff Roy Miller did not provide information on the shooting circumstances, saying only that it’s “a little early to discuss that.”

According to an obituary from the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon, Ms. Sherman’s husband, Michael Sherman, 52, died July 2. The obituary lists Logan Sherman as his son.
