A North Toledo man was given consecutive life sentences on Friday for raping a 2-year-old girl left in his care.
Aubrey Dale Marshall, 57, of of 2611 Lagrange St., who was a convicted sex offender, received the maximum sentence on two counts of rape from Judge Ruth Ann Franks in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.
He will be eligible to ask for release from the Ohio Parole Board after serving 30 years of the sentence. As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed a charge for failure to register his address with the county sheriff.
The woman who left the child in his care — Connie Elam, 28, of 3321 Maple St. — was convicted Monday of attempted endangering children.
She will be sentenced Aug. 8.
