Trial set for man accused of aiming BB gun

A Toledo man who allegedly pointed a BB gun at Toledo firefighters eight days ago is scheduled to go to trial next week.

William Rogers, Jr., 19, of 711 Dorr St. pleaded not guilty this week in Toledo Municipal Court to an inducing panic charge. Bond was set at $75,000 and trial was scheduled for Wednesday.

Firefighters responding to a medical call Aug. 2 at the Greenbelt Place Apartments, near Cherry and Michigan streets, reported a man aiming what appeared to be a rifle at them. They sought cover behind a fire truck and called 911.

Police said they found the gun in the kitchen of a Walnut Street apartment.
