Father to be arraigned in child endangerment

The father of an 11-month-old boy will be arraigned this week on a child-endangerment charge after he allegedly dozed off when he was supposed to be watching the infant, who fell from a second-floor window.

Tracy Smith, 19, of 243 Palmer St. was indicted last week by the Lucas County grand jury.

His son was allegedly under his care July 10 at 730 Walnut St., in North Toledo when the toddler climbed through the open window and fell, breaking a leg.

Mr. Smith was released on supervised recognizance bond with electronic monitoring and has been ordered to have no contact with his son.
