Grand jury indicts man in shelter death

A Toledo man was indicted Monday by a Lucas County grand jury for beating a fellow resident to death at Toledo Gospel Rescue Mission.

Houston Hart, 49, who listed the mission at 1917 Jefferson Ave. as his home, was indicted for two counts of murder in the death of Joseph Meyers, 53. Mr. Meyers, who was beaten and stomped Aug. 3 at the mission, died four days later.

Authorities said the two men got into an argument at the shelter that escalated into a fight.
