Matthew Gonzalez, former owner of Matthew Vincente Salon on Garden Road, leaves the courtroom after being sentenced by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings for three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material on August 21, 2013.

A former South Toledo salon owner was sent to prison today for 15 years for using his cell phone to videotape three teen-aged girls as they undressed for tanning sessions at his salon.

Matthew Gonzalez, 50, of 1337 Cromly Ct., also was classified as a sex offender who must register his address with the county sheriff for 25 years by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Linda Jennings.

Gonzalez, who owned the former Matthew Vincente Salon on Garden Road, pleaded guilty last month to three counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material, a second-degree felony. Three additional counts of that charge as well as one count each of tampering with evidence and obstructing official business were dismissed.

The incidents, which occurred in June and July of 2012, involved two 16-year-old girls and a 17-year-old.
