A Toledo motorist who allegedly drove off after colliding with a motorcyclist was indicted Wednesday by a Lucas County grand jury for failure to stop after an accident.

David A. Robinson, 39, of 1846 Palmwood Ave., was charged in connection with an Aug. 21 crash on Douglas Road at Ida Drive that killed Jason Alexander, 32, of West Toledo.

Police said Robinson was southbound on Douglas when he went left of center and struck Mr. Alexander’s northbound motorcycle head-on. Police said Robinson fled the scene but was later arrested about a mile away near the Miracle Mile Shopping Center.

The charge against Robinson is a third-degree felony punishable by up to three years in prison.
