A Holland man entered guilty pleas today to three charges in the shooting death and robbery of a Toledo man.

Antonio Taylor, Jr., 20, of 347 Oak View Ct., pleaded guilty to murder, aggravated burglary, and felonious assault, each with a firearms specification. Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda scheduled sentencing for Sept. 23.

Taylor along with two 17-year-olds were arrested in the April 29 shooting death of Nathaniel Phillips, 21.

Taylor said in court that Levi Jackson knocked on the door and was allowed inside an apartment on Twin Oaks Drive in West Toledo where Taylor struck one of three occupants on the head with a gun, shot Mr. Phillips to death, and shot Michael Kohlhofer, 20, of Holland in the leg.

Taylor said they’d gone to the apartment to rob someone who he didn’t know of drugs, but, “It went bad.”

Young Jackson, 17, of Holland was certified to stand trial as an adult in the case and is scheduled to for a pretrial hearing Sept. 13 before Judge Zmuda on charges of murder, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, and two counts of felonious assault.

A third co-defendant, Cody Ramsey, 17, of Holland was found delinquent in Lucas County Juvenile Court of complicity to robbery and complicity to aggravated robbery. He was ordered to spend at least two years in an Ohio Department of Youth Services facility.
