Woman pleads guilty for role in New Year's Eve killing

A Toledo woman who arranged a phony marijuana purchase that ended in homicide pleaded guilty today to complicity to commit involuntary manslaughter in the Dec. 31 death of Brian Minley.

Ashley Hundstrucker, 23, of 3940 Lockwood Ave., faces up to 11 years in prison when she is sentenced Oct. 10 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros.

She admitted in court that she contacted Mr. Minley on Facebook to purchase some marijuana so that Daquaine Booth, with whom she has a child, could rob Mr. Minley. She then drove Booth and Kevin Brooks to Mr. Minley’s Berdan Avenue home where Booth allegedly went inside to rob the victim but shot him to death in the ensuing confrontation. Hundstrucker then drove the van that the men fled in.

Brooks, 23, of 3208 Maple St., pleaded guilty Sept. 9 to the same charge. He is to be sentenced Oct. 10.

Booth, 26, of 2828 Weber St., is scheduled to go on trial Sept. 30 on charges of murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary.
