The trial of a man charged in connection with the disappearance of an East Toledo toddler was postponed today until Nov. 4.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks granted a request by Steven King II, 23, of 704 Federal St., to continue his trial as the investigation into the death of 18-month-old Elaina Steinfurth continues.

Mr. King is charged with obstructing justice for allegedly lying to police investigating the child’s June 2 disappearance. The little girl’s badly decomposed remains were found Sept. 5 inside a box in a detached garage at the Federal Street address.

No one has been charged in the child’s death, but the baby’s mother – Mr. King’s girlfriend – Angela Steinfurth, 25, of 329 Valleywood Dr., also is charged with obstructing justice in the case.
