The trial of a man charged in connection with the disappearance of an East Toledo toddler was postponed Monday until Nov. 4.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Ruth Ann Franks granted a request by Steven King II, 23, of 704 Federal St. to continue his trial, which would have started Monday.

Mr. King is charged with obstructing justice, accused of lying to police investigating the June 2 disappearance of 18-month-old Elaina Steinfurth. The little girl’s decomposed remains were found Sept. 5 inside a box in a detached garage at the Federal Street address.

No one has been charged in the child’s death, but the baby’s mother — Mr. King’s girlfriend — Angela Steinfurth, 25, of 329 Valleywood Dr., also is charged with obstructing justice.
