A Toledo man accused of throwing a car seat with an infant inside pleaded guilty Friday to endangering children.

Walter Johnson, 32, of 1215 Peck St. faces up to 18 months in prison when sentenced Oct. 30 by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda.

Johnson, who had a prior conviction for child endangering, told the court he’d had an argument with an ex-girlfriend at the Moody Manor apartments July 9. While police said he threw the seat to the concrete floor with the 2-month-old girl inside, Johnson said he handed the carrier to the child’s mother as they argued and she dropped it.
