A Lucas County judge Wednesday ordered that the mother of an 18-month-old girl whose remains were found in September in an East Toledo garage have no contact with the child’s father and other family members.

Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook said at a pretrial hearing for Angela Steinfurth that he was putting a no-contact order in place but did not elaborate. Jennifer Donovan, an assistant Lucas County prosecutor, said afterward Ms. Steinfurth is not to write letters or contact her late daughter’s father, T.J. Steinfurth, or his family.

Ms. Steinfurth, 25, of 329 Valleywood Dr. is being held in the Lucas County jail on one count of obstructing official business for allegedly lying to police investigating the June 2 disappearance of her daughter, Elaina. Her boyfriend, Steven King II, 23, of 704 Federal St., faces the same charge. No one has been charged with the child’s death.

A pretrial hearing in Ms. Steinfurth’s case was set for Nov. 20.
