A Toledo man was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Tuesday on charges he struck and injured a road construction worker with a car in the central city.

Robert Sinkey, 25, of 1001 Mott Ave., was indicted for felonious assault, failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, and grand theft of a motor vehicle.

According to police, Mr. Sinkey allegedly struck Jarred James, 20, of Toledo near Collingwood Boulevard and Floyd Street about 9:25 a.m. Oct. 21. He then reportedly got out of the car, stole a pickup, and was apprehended on the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge where police vehicles had boxed him in.

Mr. James was treated at a local hospital and later released.
