A Waverly Avenue man accused in a September shooting will be arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court today.

Jeremiah “Bud” Jones, 22, of 1106 Waverly is charged with felonious assault.

Police allege that Jones shot Vercell Carter, 26, on Sept. 21 at 924 Woodstock Ave. Carter was shot in his left leg — the bullet passed through his lower leg and broke a bone, according to court records.

Another Toledo man, accused in an unrelated shooting, was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court on Thursday.

Maurice Clark, 20, of 403 Paine Ave. is charged with felonious assault and was ordered to remain in the Lucas County jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Police allege that Clark shot Logan Lecomte, 19, on Nov. 6.

The victim told police he went to see the mother of his child in East Toledo. When he arrived at the home, the woman looked like she had been assaulted, according to court records.

The woman reportedly told the victim she was beaten and the suspect was upstairs.

Lecomte went upstairs and met Clark, police said. The two got into a fight and Lecomte was shot once in the abdomen.

Clark is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary hearing Nov. 21.
