Akron man found guilty of dropping woman out of a window

A jury has found an Akron landlord guilty of dropping a woman out of a window.

Luis Martinez, 37, of Chalker Street, was found guilty of felonious assault.

Authorities say Martinez got into an argument with the girlfriend of one of his tenants in July. Martinez grabbed the woman and hung her out of a second story window and dropped her. The woman suffered a broken leg.

Police were called after witnesses saw the woman dangling from the window.

Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Tammy O’Brien will sentence Martinez on Dec. 19.
