A 15-year-old found delinquent of rape at a Sylvania park was sentenced Wednesday to spend six months at the Youth Treatment Center.

Emmanuell Quinn, after reaching an agreement with prosecutors, pleaded guilty on Nov. 13 to rape in Lucas County Juvenile Court.

The sentencing on Wednesday was in line with the plea agreement: The youth will spend six months in the downtown Toledo lockdown facility where he will start a sex-offender treatment program.

The youth will not have to register as a sex offender if he successfully completes the program; if he fails, the court could impose a sentence with the Department of Youth Services. Part of the plea agreement was that the teen would have to testify against his co-defendant, Kei'ron Toyer, 17, if necessary.

The teens, students at Sylvania’s Southview High School, raped a 15-year-old girl at Olander Park on Sept. 16, authorities said.

The Toyer youth, who turns 18 in February, pleaded no contest on Nov. 20, also in Juvenile Court, to rape. A kidnapping charge was dropped against the teen as part of a plea agreement.

He was found guilty and sentenced to a minimum of two years in the Department of Youth Services, specifically at the Lighthouse Youth Center at Paint Creek.

The plea agreements were made with the victim’s family in part so that the girl, also a Southview student, would not have to testify.
