5 suspected in fur-store break-in appear in court

Five Detroit men accused of trying to break into a Toledo fur store by ramming it with a U-Haul truck made their first appearances in Toledo Municipal Court on Wednesday.

Alfred Johnson, 35; Adrian Hill, 26; Deshawn Hill, 24; Quinton Benson, 36, and Antwain McKenzie, 23, are charged with vandalism. Mr. McKenzie also is charged with receiving stolen property. Bond was set at $25,000 each.

They were arrested Tuesday on northbound I-75 near Alexis Road in a stolen van. Toledo police said a Michigan officer called after seeing a U-Haul truck smash into Toledo Fur Services, 2123 W. Central Ave.
