A Toledo woman was placed on community control for four years and sentenced to six months at the Correctional Treatment Facility in Toledo on Friday for robbing a local convenience store.

Rachel Chandler, 38, of 230 13th St. pleaded guilty to robbery before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda for an Oct. 17 hold-up at the Stop & Go, 3131 W. Sylvania Ave. She admitted she went into the store, demanded money, then jumped on the counter and stole the cash from the cash register because she wanted money to buy drugs.

Judge Zmuda ordered her to perform 100 hours of community service, submit to random drug and alcohol screenings, and to pay $2,864 in restitution to Stop & Go.
