A Toledo man was sentenced to three years in prison Monday for firing shots at the brother of a local homicide victim.

Dontravis Pressley, 39, of 2372 Warren St., had entered an Alford plea last month to one count of felonious assault for the Aug. 17 incident involving Rico Dorsey. Dorsey’s brother, Ramon Dorsey, was shot to death May 11 in a North Toledo alley.

Pressley told the court Rico Dorsey had hit him in the face, and he later fired shots from his car into the ground when Rico Dorsey approached him a second time. Pressley said he only meant to scare Dorsey away.

In addition to the three-year prison sentence, Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook ordered Pressley to serve 501 days remaining from an unrelated prison sentence for which he had been on parole.
