Sex offender gets 1 year for failing to register

A convicted sex offender who failed to register his address with authorities was sentenced Monday to a year in federal prison.

Keith Prater, 26, of Toledo pleaded guilty Oct. 1 in U.S. District Court before Magistrate Judge James Knepp to one count of failure to register. He is classified as a sexual predator who must register his address every 90 days for life. Judge James Carr imposed the sentence.
