Bond was set at $3 million Tuesday for the fourth man charged in a fatal May 18 home invasion in Waterville Township.

Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Myron Duhart ordered Phillip Allen, Jr., 22, of 321 O’Connell St., to be held in the Lucas County jail after Allen pleaded not guilty to aggravated murder, aggravated robbery, and aggravated burglary, each with a firearms specification.

Allen, who was arrested last week after Toledo police and U.S. marshals found him hiding in the attic of an Ontario Street house, is charged in the death of James Safadi, 34, who was shot at his South River Road home by intruders who robbed him of cash, jewelry, and guns.

Judge Duhart set a trial date of April 28 for Allen and co-defendants Adam Anderson, 20, of 2436 Fulton St., and James Allen, 19, of 1732 E. Westland Gardens Rd. Co-defendant Ronald Rooker, 32, of 8930 S. River Rd., Waterville Township, is scheduled for trial March 24.
