Delta woman gets 10 years in prison for admitting she tried to kill her soon

WAUSEON – A rural Delta woman who admitted she tried to shoot her teenage son to death was sentenced today to 10 years in prison.

Fulton County Common Pleas Judge James Barber imposed the prison term for Candis Sherman, 57, who pleaded guilty in January to attempted aggravated murder with a firearms specification.

She admitted she shot then-15-year-old Logan Sherman at their home on State Rt. 109 in Fulton County’s Swancreek Township last July 21.

In a statement to the court, Sherman said she had planned to kill her son and herself because she had fallen into depression after her estranged husband died and she was struggling financially.
