Man indicted on 3 counts of murder in Fremont deaths

FREMONT — The man accused of shooting and killing three men at a Fremont bar has been indicted on six counts, including three counts of murder with firearm specifications.

Igmidio Mista, 33, was indicted by a Sandusky County grand jury late Tuesday, according to the county's prosecutor's office. In addition to the murder counts, he was indicted on one count of attempted murder, one count of felonious assault, both with firearm specifications, and one count of possessing a firearm in a liquor permit premises.

The shooting occurred in the early morning hours of March 9 at Last Call Bar on West State Street. Killed in the shooting were 26-year-old Elmore police Officer Jose Andy Chavez, 28-year-old bartender Ramiro Sanchez, and a 25-year-old customer, Daniel Ramirez. A fourth man shot at the bar, 25-year-old Ramiro Arreola, was injured.

Mr. Mista, a Philippine national living in Fremont, is not a U.S. citizen and considered a flight risk; the judge ordered him held without bond, according to Jim Melle, the city's law director. His arraignment is set for 3:45 p.m. today.

If convicted on all counts, Mr. Mista could face 75 years to life in prison.
