Toledo man guilty of raping young girl

A Toledo man accused of raping a young girl has been convicted in Lucas County Common Pleas Court of rape.

Robert Tibbits, 38, of 3637 Revere Dr. entered an Alford plea on Tuesday to one count of rape. In an Alford plea, a defendant does not admit guilt, but admits enough evidence exists for a conviction.

Judge Myron Duhart found Tibbits guilty. He faces up to 10 years in prison at his sentence hearing on April 22.
