A clerk at a West Toledo liquor store who was charged with selling vodka to a minor was indicted today on two additional misdemeanor charges by a Lucas County grand jury.

Nicholas Thompson, 38, of 340 S. Reynolds Rd., was indicted for selling or furnishing liquor to a minor and selling or furnishing beer to a minor for incidents at Foxx Liquor Store, 5341 Dorr St., on April 12, 2013.

Although the new indictment states that the alleged offenses occurred Feb. 1, 2013, prosecutors said that was incorrect – that the incidents occurred more than two months after Mr. Thompson allegedly sold a bottle of vodka Feb. 1, 2013, to a friend of Brian Hoeflinger, 18, an Ottawa Hills High School senior who was killed later that night after drinking at a friend’s birthday party and then driving. That case is set for trial April 14 in Lucas County Common Pleas Court.

In August, the Ohio Division of Liquor Control terminated its liquor-agency contract with Foxx and filed a complaint with the Ohio Liquor Control Commission seeking to revoke the store's permit to sell beer and wine.
