2 men arraigned in pair of slayings
4/3/2014Two homicide suspects were arraigned Wednesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court before visiting Judge J. Ronald Bowman.
Deontay Smith, 24, of 418 Dexter St. pleaded not guilty to murder and participating in a criminal gang for the Feb. 2 death of Michael Macklin, Jr., 20, who was shot while driving a vehicle at Greenwood and Walden avenues in East Toledo. Judge Bowman continued his $2 million bond and set a pretrial hearing for April 16.
Tyrone Hoskins, Jr., 23, of 618 Woodland Ave. also pleaded not guilty to murder and participating in a criminal gang in connection with the Feb. 2 death of Michael Williams, Jr., 24, who was shot in the 1500 block of Ottawa Drive.
Judge Bowman continued his $1 million bond and set a pre-trial hearing for April 9 when his co-defendant, Rishad Williams, 21, also is to be in court.
