Trial begins of woman accused of killing son

After a full day of jury selection, nine men and three women were seated Tuesday in Lucas County Common Pleas Court to hear the trial of a Toledo woman charged with killing her young son.

Amanda Bacon, 26, of 504 W. Alexis Rd. is charged with aggravated murder in the Dec. 16, 2012, death of 6-month-old Avery Glenn Bacon. Opening statements in the trial, expected to last nearly two weeks, are scheduled today.
