A man who police say was a witness to an assault that possibly contributed to the death of a 27-year-old Toledoan was arraigned today in Toledo Municipal Court.

Charged with obstructing justice is Michael Boswell, 40, 1318 Brooke Park Drive. Police allege that Mr. Boswell was at Malibu's, a sports bar at 2045 W. Alexis Rd., on Saturday and saw others assault Robert Turner, Jr., 27.

Mr. Boswell was ordered to be released from the Lucas County jail on his own recognizance. He is to be in court again on April 23.

Mr. Turner suffered "visible injuries," police said. Toledo fire paramedics pronounced Mr. Turner dead at the scene.

Police said the death was "suspicious" but the Lucas County Coroner's Office has not yet ruled on the cause or manner of death.

An autopsy was performed Saturday, but Lucas County Deputy Coroner Dr. Cynthia Beisser said the autopsy was "inconclusive." A ruling on the death is expected after toxicology results are available.
