Indictment handed down in May 14 homicide

A Springfield Township man was indicted by a Lucas County grand jury Friday in the fatal stabbing of a 72-year-old woman with whom he lived.

Adam Akers, 41, was indicted on one count each of murder and felonious assault.

The charges stem from the May 14 death of Judith Uyttenhove, who was stabbed 13 times with a kitchen knife.

Mr. Akers had recently moved into the victim's mobile home at Royal Village in the 7500 block of Dorr Street.
