A Toledo man who tried to set fire to a home where four people were sleeping was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison.

Leon Hayes, 38, of 1232 Buckingham St. also was ordered by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gary Cook to pay $1,000 in restitution.

Hayes was found guilty earlier this month of two counts of attempted aggravated arson for breaking out a window of a Navarre Avenue home Jan. 5, throwing lighter fluid inside, and trying to set a fire.
