Two Toledo men who committed a string of robberies and cashed forged checks were sentenced Wednesday to 4 years and 11 months in prison.

Anthony Fesh, 32, and Dustin Werner, 25, both of 2555 Castleton Ave., also were ordered by Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda to pay restitution to their victims. Fesh was ordered to pay a total of $1,287, and Werner is to pay $1,655.

Werner pleaded guilty May 12 to five counts of robbery and three counts of forgery, while Fesh pleaded guilty to four counts of complicity to robbery and two counts of forgery.

Police said Werner admitted that he went into various businesses over three days in February and placed a note on the counter demanding cash, while Fesh said he drove the getaway car and shared in the profits.
