Man accused of false 911 report pleads not guilty

A Toledo man who is accused of calling 911 and erroneously telling police that his friend shot himself and then fell to his death from the Martin Luther King, Jr., Bridge was arraigned Tuesday.

In Toledo Municipal Court, Thomas Jeffers, 24, of 3160 Brigham St. pleaded not guilty to making a false report, providing false information to a police officer, and obstructing official business for allegedly making the call Sunday.

Mr. Jeffers was released from the jail Monday because of overcrowding. He was ordered to remain free. A next court date was not set.
