An East Toledo couple suspected in the disappearance and murder of a Ypsilanti, Mich., man are scheduled to be arraigned Aug. 6 before Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Gene Zmuda.
Desirae Strauss and Robert Strauss, both 36, of 2140 Consaul St. were indicted for aggravated murder, murder, tampering with evidence, and grand theft of a motor vehicle stemming from the June 22 death of Brian Martin, 52, whose body has not been found.
Toledo police allege the couple bludgeoned Mr. Martin to death inside their first-floor apartment.
Both are being held in the Lucas County jail where they were taken after their arrest July 8 in Anderson, Ind. The Strausses were stopped by police in Indiana while driving Mr. Martin’s car.
