Man gets 17 months in sex abuse of boy
7/31/2014A Toledo man who sexually abused a 2-year-old boy in 2011 has been sentenced to 17 months in prison.
Richard Fitzwater, 62, of 3519 Almeda Drive pleaded guilty July 14 to attempted gross sexual imposition for the April 7, 2011 incident. His attorney, Kenneth Phillips, told the court Fitzwater had not intended to abscond but was living at the Cherry Street Mission and then secured a place to live in Wyoming.
Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Dean Mandros told Fitzwater in sentencing him Tuesday that as a convicted sex offender he would be required to register his address with the county sheriff every 180 days for the next 25 years.
