A Florida man convicted of defrauding local investors in the sale of Iraqi currency must return to Toledo for his sentencing on Sept. 24, a judge ruled Monday.

Rudolph Coenen, 49, of Jacksonville had asked U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary to allow him to be sentenced by video from Florida because of health problems.

Coenen, owner of Bayshore Capital Investments, pleaded guilty in 2013 to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and five counts of money laundering for his role in the $24 million scheme.

Co-defendants Bradford Huebner, 66, of Ottawa Hills and Charles Emmencker, 67, of Sylvania were convicted of conspiracy and other charges at a jury trial in May.
