Ex-Maumee city employee indicted for theft

Former Maumee city employee David C. Theaker was indicted Friday by a Lucas County grand jury for allegedly charging gasoline to the city that he used for personal use from June 9 through July 22.

Mr. Theaker, 53, who was a supervisor in the service division, is charged with one count of theft in office, a fifth-degree felony.

He resigned on July 28. Mr. Theaker also stepped down from his elected position on the Maumee Board of Education.
