Former Ohio turnpike employee sentenced in theft case

PORT CLINTON – A former employee of the Ohio Turnpike Commission's Elmore maintenance garage was placed on community control for three years Thursday for stealing property from his employer.

Michael Klinski, 47, also was ordered to pay $7,500 in restitution by Ottawa County Common Pleas Court Judge Bruce Winters. As part of a plea agreement, the court dismissed two counts of theft in office and one count of theft.

Klinski pleaded guilty Sept. 27 to grand theft for stealing some $22,000 worth of property belonging to the turnpike commission.The items were found at Klinski's Clyde home last year.
