Toledo Legal Aid Society launches website

With the help of a $3,500 grant, the Toledo Legal Aid Society on Wednesday launched a website intended to better connect underserved populations with legal representation.

The site, toledolegalaid.com, includes contact information for those in need of legal services, links to online court case information, and other resources.

“This to me is one of many ways that we are trying as an office to better serve our clients,” said Sean McNulty, chief public defender.

The Toledo Legal Aid Society represents adults and juveniles in criminal, traffic, and delinquency cases. Its lawyers act as public defenders for indigent defendants.

The website was developed with funds from the MacArthur Foundation Safety + Justice Challenge, a $1.75 million grant that Lucas County is using to build “a safer and more just community,” said County Commissioner Carol Contrada. “We are committed to legal representation for all as guaranteed by the United States Constitution, and this website will help protect individual rights by providing easy access to legal representation.”
