"...as human beings we are capable of making sense of situations based on the thinnest slice of experience."

Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point.

REAL TIME: Hip-hop artist Nas cranked out a tribute to recently-elected Barack Obama on election night. Other hip-hop heavies have followed with more. "One of the brilliant things about hip-hop is that it's something that can comment almost in real time," said Adam Bradley, an assistant professor of literature at Claremont McKenna College in California, who is writing a book on hip-hop. WEEKEND DVD PICK: While you're thinking of James Bond and his latest movie, Quantum of Solace, maybe you'll be in the mood to check out the spy series' most overlooked classic -- For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore. It has everything: a great car chase, a great ski chase, a missing missile command system. My only regret is that Sheena Easton didn't give it a more rockin' theme song.

HANNAH'S FAULT: Does Hannah Montana contribute to power outages in middle schools? Add balloons and birds and the answer is yes. (KC)

ROWR!!!!!: Jennifer Aniston finally dishes a little dirt on Angelina Jolie, who stole Brad Pitt from her a few years ago. She thinks some of Jolie's actions were "really uncool." What she doesn't say, but we bet she thinks it: "How come Angelina didn't steal

Vince Vaughn from me instead of Brad?". (RL)

SAY IT AIN'T SO, JOE: So, like, Joe Jonas totally dissed Taylor Swift and, like, broke up with her on the phone!!! How wrong is that? And, get this, now he's dating that 10,000 BC girl Camilla Belle, who's ancient! I am so mad. (RL)

GUTTER BALL: President-elect Barack Obama will have plenty on his plate once he gets in office but he really should add one more: bowling lessons. After all, the White House comes with lanes, he bowled a 37 in seven frames during the primaries, and the Professional Bowlers Association is offering to help. (RS)

COMPARE AND CONTRAST: What further proof that our economic system is really weird? Want to get super depressed? Want to feel really small? Check out this calculator that lets you compare your meager salary to what the guys on the Cleveland Cavaliers are making. Mind boggling. (RL)

ABOUT TIME: Chinese Democracy cost Axl Rose 13 years, 14 studios and the exit of every other founding member of Guns n' Roses to produce 14 songs. Was it worth it? The countdown clock says we'll know in about 11 days - maybe. Proof that this band has been fading for years. (KC)

PASTE ME: Want to pop yourself into a JibJab video? Who wouldn't. (KC)

MORE IS BETTER: As "Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa" rockets to the top of the movie charts, Jada Pinkett Smith gets her wish for more body - she plays the hippo. The actress had even been to Tanzania recently with husband Will Smith. (KC)

SPIN O' DEATH: We apparently missed this on Halloween, but here's a quick note on North Korea's amusement parks of death. Wheeee. Fun game: Try to guess the number of maintenance checks this coaster at Kaeson Youth Park has had. (KC)
