Jennifer Aniston nearly naked on the cover of GQ

"...as human beings we are capable of making sense of situations based on the thinnest slice of experience."

Malcolm Gladwell, author of Blink and The Tipping Point.

COMING TO A NEWSTAND NEAR YOU: Jennifer Aniston is on the cover of GQ magazine wearing a strategically placed tie and, well, nothing else. She dishes on Angelina Jolie, John Mayer, and other stuff. This isn't the first time for her and GQ, by the way. (RL)

SPEAKING OF PINUPS: One of the originals, Bettie Page, passed away Thursday at the age of 85. She was considered a groundbreaker in the sexual revolution, thanks to her risque poses and overt sensuality. (RL)

GOLDEN GLOBE SMACKDOWN: The Golden Globe awards may be the most kicked around awards show since, well the Grammies... And the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame... And the Oscars... So, in honor of the fact that the universally loved film, Milk didn't receive a Golden Globe nod, and because we like Sean Penn, we're saying Sean Penn should've been nominated for his role portraying Harvey Milk. Take that, Golden Globes! (RL)

DVD PICK OF THE WEEK: For your consideration ... Monty Python's The Life of Brian. Holy Grail gets all the attention, and The Meaning of Life has perhaps the most unforgettable moment in a Python film -- the gastric explosion of Mr. Creosote -- but The Life of Brian is by far the group's most complete film, with smart, witty performances all around. Scathing, irreverent, and achingly funny, The Life of Brian is the tale of a mistaken messiah, Brian (Graham Chapman), whose life happens to parallel Jesus. A perfect holiday film for those looking for some sacrareligious cheer for the holidays. (KB)

WE'RE NOT BEING CYNICAL HERE: Tom Cruise knew it was love at first sight when he met Toledo's Katie Holmes. And he's still in love with her. The dude is out pitching his movie, but he can't stop talking about his wife, which is pretty cool when you think about it. (RL)

OH, TO BE LEBRON'S FRIEND: Cleveland Cavaliers star Lebron James treated his teammates and some team officials to brand new, custom made Dr. Dre headphones. Why? Because he can and because he's a cool pal. (RL)

GEEK-TASTIC!: Was 2008 the Year of the Geek? It's hard to argue when a comic book movie becomes the biggest hit of the decade, Megan Fox wears a Star Wars T-shirt, and young people registered to vote using their Xboxes. Check out some of the geekiest moments here. Don't know what to buy your favorite geek for the holidays? Try this gift guide. (RS)

IN THE SAME THEME: And Radio Shack has put its old catalogs online, which demonstrate just how far we've come on the tech front. Check out 1985 and the write-up for the "Amazing Compact Disc Digital Audio Player," which includes a graphic of the CD being inserted into the player. Ten years from now kids will ask, "what's a CD?". (KB)

DIVAS, ROCKERS, AND DANCERS: The annual Kennedy Center honors celebration Sunday brought out everyone from Beyonce to Garth Brooks to pay tribute to Barbra Streisand, Morgan Freeman, Twyla Tharp, The Who, and George Jones. Imagine what it was like backstage when The Who's Pete Townshend and Babs huddled. The show will air Dec. 30. (RL)

MEET THE NEW BOSS: NBC announced Sunday that the new chief interrogator of Meet the Press will be David Gregory, who combines old school journalism cred with an understanding of the ubiquitous 24-hour news cycle. The Washington Post fills in some of the details, like did you know Gregory is 6-foot-5? He is. (RL)

WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND: Remember when women wore tights and called them leggings and then threw in some high-heeled shoes and that was fashion? Well, thanks to Lindsay Lohan, they're back, and selling like crazy. (RL)
