SANDUSKY — Cedar Point amusement park on Tuesday announced changes for the 2014 season, including two new rides and relocation of two others.

Compared to this year’s addition of the $26 million GateKeeper roller coaster, next year’s changes are modest.

The park plans to add Pipe Scream, a coaster-like ride with spinning disks, and Lake Erie Eagles, a ride featuring flying scooters. Both will be in the park’s Gemini Midway section.

Cedar Point also will move its child-friendly Hopper ride and Gemini, Jr., roller coaster to its Camp Snoopy family area. The rides will be renamed Woodstock’s Airmail and Wilderness Run, respectively.

Cedar Point, owned by Cedar Fair LP of Sandusky, also said its two-year renovation of the Hotel Breakers will begin this winter.

A cost estimate for the work — the new rides, relocations, and hotel renovation — was not available.
