9 communities push Halloween to weekend

Some area communities changed the times for trick-or-treating after getting spooked by weather forecasts.

Elmore, Port Clinton, Allen Township, Woodville, Gibsonburg, Genoa, Grand Rapids, Fostoria, and Wauseon postponed the festivities for the weekend because forecasts call for rain showers.

In Grand Rapids, trick-or-treating will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Saturday. In Elmore, Woodville, and Allen Township, trick-or-treat hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Genoa, Gibsonburg, Fostoria, and Wauseon will celebrate from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Port Clinton will hold its celebration from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Other northwest Ohio and southeastern Michigan communities had not reported any changes to their trick-or-treat events, mostly scheduled for Thursday night.
