Fall’s colorful parade is on the march

Every season has its challenges, but each one also has plenty of redeeming qualities.

The beauty of snow allows you to cope a little better through those cold winter days and nights. Blooming flowers and budding trees make spring rains much more palatable. Long daylight hours soothe the discomfort of summer heat and humidity.

And crisp breezes and the beauty of changing leaf colors make the darkness that creeps more into the daylight hours every fall not so bad.

Yes, it’s fall, and though it has been since September, few pay much attention until brisk breezes say it’s time to close windows in the evening, pull out heavier blankets at night, and put on sweaters and jackets.

And depending on how chilly it is, don’t forget a hat, scarf, and pair of lightweight gloves for a trek through a city park or a drive along a country road to enjoy nature as it changes leaves from green, to yellow-green, to yellow, tan, orange, red, magenta, and burgundy.
