The Lucas County Dog Warden’s Office is featuring a month-long adoption special called “Christmas in July.”

Starting today, the adoption fee for all dogs and puppies will be discounted to $25 plus the purchase of a dog license, which is $25 in Lucas County.

“We have an abundance of wonderful dogs up for adoption that have all been through both behavioral and medical screening, have had their vaccines, worming, heartworm test, and are spayed or neutered and microchipped,” Dog Warden Julie Lyle said.

Some dogs also have sponsors that have donated a portion of their adoption fee, so the adoption fee for those dogs will be waived and adopters only have to purchase a dog license, she said. Those interested in adopting who already have dogs should bring their current dogs with them.
