Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 4-24

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

“Pit bull” mix, black and white female, unlicensed, attempted to bite staff during veterinary exam, Prouty Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

American bulldog, white and orange male, unlicensed, bite history, surrendered by Chontaly Lamb, Alvin Street, Toledo.

Giant schnauzer, black female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (dog had large ulcerated tumor on foot), surrendered by Terry Ruby, Comet Avenue, Toledo.

“Pit bull,” black and white male, unlicensed, veterinarian recommended euthanasia/​quality of life (dog was weak and collapsing, had distended belly, enlarged liver and spleen, extreme difficulty breathing, harsh lung sounds, grim prognosis), Islington Street, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Beagle, tan male, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (age-related illness), surrendered by Lynette Westphal, Swallow Tail Lane, Sylvania.

“Pit bull,” brindle and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/​body handling (scored 5/​5 on April 21), North Detroit Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Boxer, orange and white female, unlicensed, owner requested euthanasia (dog had seizures, was unable to walk, not eating), surrendered by Brian Garufos, Stratton Street, Toledo.

Akita, black and white male, unlicensed, aggressive/​unsafe, surrendered by Jennifer Jackowski, Hagman Road, Toledo.
