Lucas County Dogs for Adoption: 5-14

Dogs remain available at the Lucas County Canine Care & Control Office, 410 South Erie St., Toledo. For information, call 419-213-2800.

For a complete list of available dogs, go to lucascountydogs.petfinder.com. A $100 adoption fee includes spay-neuter, a heartworm check, microchip ID, vaccinations, and a behavioral evaluation.

Breed and description; location seized; charge (if applicable). Dogs killed for poor behavior are scored on a scale up to 5, with higher scores being more aggressive:

Boxer, white and tan female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/ dog aggression (scored 4 out of 4 on May 10), Jay Street, Toledo, stray brought to the shelter.

“Pit bull,” tan and white female, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/ dog aggression (scored 4/ 4 on May 11), King Road, Sylvania, stray picked up by a control officer.

Labrador retriever mix, black male, unlicensed, failed behavior evaluation/ body handling (scored 4/ 5 on May 11), surrendered by Judith Varnes, Bonaparte Drive, Toledo.

Dogs transferred May 12 to the Lucas County Pit Crew and the Toledo Area Humane Society under the direction of Lucas County Canine Care & Control Director Julie Lyle:

“Pit bull,” orange and white male, West Central Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Parson Russell terrier mix, white and brindle female, surrendered by Mary Reeves, South Crissey Road, Holland.

“Pit bull,” orange and white female, Gribbon Lane, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.

Pug, tan and black male, Nebraska Avenue, Toledo, stray picked up by a control officer.
